in this post, I am going to give you complete information about the present continuous tense in Urdu/Hindi languages. I believe that It is one of the easiest tense of 12 English tenses. You will realize after reading this whole post. Before getting started, let’s learn and memorize its definition first as it will help you understand this tense much better. An act that is in the middle in the present time; as,
"I am writing a post for my student".

It means I am in the middle of writing a post in the present time. Present continuous tense is used for a shorter act that is why we never you time expression like “for” and “since”. We use present participle form of the verb for this tense. “am”, “is”, “are” auxiliary Verbs is used for this tense. If the subject of the sentence “I” then we always use “am”. If the subject of the sentence is “you”, “we”, “they” or any plural noun, then we use “are” as a helping verb. with The rest of other nouns and pronoun, we use helping verb “is”.
Sentences
Normally we make three types of sentences in this tense such as affirmative, negative and interrogative sentences. Let’s deal with them one by one.
1- Affirmative Sentences
Formula = Sub + Helping Verb + Main Verb + Object + Full stop.
This is the formula out of which you can make different affirmative sentences.
Examples
- I am doing my homework at the moment.
- She is playing with her doll.
- They are getting ready for school.
- Ahmed is watching Cartoon show.
2- Negative Sentences
Formula = Sub + Helping Verb + Not + Main Verb + Object + Full stop.
Here is the formula help you to make sentences out of it.
Examples
- I am not doing my homework at the moment
- She is not playing with her doll.
- They are not getting ready for school.
- Ahmed is not watching a cartoon show.
3- Interrogative Sentences
Formula = Helping Verb + Sub + Main Verb + Object + Question Mark.
The above formula helps you make interrogative sentences. Remember! Don’t forget to end the sentence with the question mark.
Examples
- Am I doing my homework at the moment?
- Is she playing with her doll?
- Are they getting ready for school?
- Is Ahmed watching a cartoon show?
